Relentless:
Whether searching for facts or searching for the law, Evelyn Calogero doesn’t stop searching until she knows that no stone has been left unturned.  As a result, she will give you an honest, straightforward assessment of your case or whatever legal issue you have.

Resourceful:
With almost 25 years’ experience in practice and in teaching others how to practice, Evelyn knows just where to look for those facts and that law.  And she knows how to ethically use the law and the facts to persuade judges and others.

Reasonable:
In ethically persuading, Evelyn keeps a cool head.  Her training as a crisis counselor and mediator results in civilized discussions and arguments in the courtroom or the conference room.  Being reasonable and willing to listen results in good leadership, so many times you will find Evelyn in that leader’s seat.

Reliable:
Evelyn knows how important it is to be available to her clients.  You can count on her to be there for you, with you, to help you reach the decisions that are right for you.

Evelyn Calogero founded the practice in Olivet, Michigan, and the firm is still Olivet’s only law firm. Most of her clients learned about her practice through word of mouth in the foster care and adoption community of parents and foster parents.

Admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1991, Evelyn worked with the late Hon. Patricia J. Boyle, Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. After that two-year clerkship ended, she was an appellate lawyer working in insurance defense and coverage, insurance fraud, and employment disputes.

She was asked to become a member of Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s adjunct faculty in 1999, and in 2000 became a full-time faculty member. She was tenured in 2009.

At the law school, she taught research and writing, appellate advocacy (both basic and advanced) and pretrial skills. She became a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the law school in 2014.
