Evelyn Calogero founded the practice in Olivet, Michigan, and the firm is still Olivet’s only law firm. Most of her clients learned about her practice through word of mouth in the foster care and adoption community of parents and foster parents.
Admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1991, Evelyn worked with the late Hon. Patricia J. Boyle, Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. After that two-year clerkship ended, she was an appellate lawyer working in insurance defense and coverage, insurance fraud, and employment disputes.
She was asked to become a member of Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s adjunct faculty in 1999, and in 2000 became a full-time faculty member. She was tenured in 2009.
At the law school, she taught research and writing, appellate advocacy (both basic and advanced) and pretrial skills. She became a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the law school in 2014.
